France is a leading global power located in Western Europe, bordered by the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. Known for its rich history, iconic architecture, and philosophical heritage, it is also a powerhouse of modern industry, being home to global giants like Airbus, L'Oréal, Renault, and Louis Vuitton. For Bangladeshi students, France offers a unique blend of traditional academic prestige and cutting-edge innovation, particularly in Aerospace, Fashion, and Business Management.
France has two main types of institutions:
- Public Universities: Subsidized by the state. Low tuition but high academic standards.
- Grandes Écoles: Elite private institutions specializing in Business and Engineering. Extremely prestigious with high employment rates.
- 7th largest economy in the world.
- Low tuition fees in public universities for international students.
- CAF Housing Subsidy: The government pays up to 30-40% of your rent.
- Work 20 hours/week while studying.
Academic Entry:
- Bachelor’s: HSC/A-Levels with 60% minimum. IELTS 6.0 (or English proficiency letter).
- Master’s: 3 or 4-year Bachelor’s degree. IELTS 6.5 (6.0 minimum in each band).
- TCF/DELF: Not required for English-taught programs, but knowing basic French helps.
Visa Requirements:
- Passport and Campus France Interview confirmation.
- Acceptance letter (EEF Procedure).
- Proof of Funds: Approx. €615 per month (€7,380 per year).
- Health Insurance (usually free for students in France).
France is becoming a major alternative to the UK and USA for students from Bangladesh. One of the biggest advantages is the cost of living support; France is the only country in Europe where the government provides a housing allowance (CAF) to international students, significantly reducing the monthly financial burden. Furthermore, the "Make It In France" initiative actively welcomes international talent in STEM and Business. Graduates from Master’s programs are eligible for a temporary residence permit (APS) to stay and look for work for up to two years, providing a solid pathway to a European career.
