Romanian Embassy Announces Mobile Consular Mission to Bangladesh for Student Visas (October 8–11, 2026)

In a major development for Bangladeshi students bound for Europe, the Embassy of Romania in India has announced a special mobile consular mission to Bangladesh. Scheduled to take place from October 8 to October 11, 2026, the mission aims to streamline and expedite student visa submissions directly in Dhaka.

The announcement was officially released on the embassy’s Facebook page on Thursday, October 1, 2026.

Focus on Study Visas and Consular Relief

According to the official statement from the Romanian Embassy, the upcoming mobile mission will primarily facilitate the submission of long-stay study visa applications (D/SD category) for Bangladeshi applicants holding offers from Romanian academic institutions.

In addition to processing student visas, the consular team will assist with other urgent consular requests from Bangladeshi citizens. Because Bangladesh does not host a full diplomatic Romanian mission capable of issuing long-stay visas, local applicants typically have to travel to New Delhi, India, or rely on cross-border logistics to submit their applications. This mobile mission offers a significantly more convenient, cost-effective, and efficient alternative for local students.

Strict Requirement: Confirmed eVisa Appointment Required

To ensure the smooth operation of the temporary mission and avoid crowding, the embassy emphasized a strict policy regarding appointments: only applicants with a pre-confirmed appointment through the official eViza portal will be processed.

“To ensure the smooth organization of the mission and to avoid any confusion, the Romanian embassy said only visa applications submitted by applicants who have received an appointment confirmation through the official eViza portal will be accepted.”

Key Directives for Visa Applicants:

  • No Walk-ins: Individuals without a confirmed appointment from the official eViza portal (eviza.mae.ro) will not be allowed to submit their documents during the mission.

  • Pre-Check Confirmation: Applicants must carefully review their official appointment confirmation slips to ensure the date and time align with the mission schedule.

  • Complete Documentation: All required academic transcripts, official acceptance letters from Ministry-approved Romanian universities, proof of funds, and legalizations must be fully prepared prior to the appointment.
